It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barney Jones on Sunday, 22nd December aged 78. Barney was not only a beloved member of our club but a larger-than-life figure who had a unique ability to light up any room and make people feel truly welcomed.
Barney was a golf member for more than 20 years, Barney had a great passion for golf and the club. He himself was a fixture at the club, his laughter and hearty cheers a familiar echo on and off the course. His golfing highlight was his sole gold letter win at the Leschenault Classic in 2018. Barney and his family business Gina’s Home Care Agency greatly contributed to the club including long term sponsorship of Tuesday Leisure and as a major sponsor of the Castieau Classic for many years plus many other events.
Our thoughts are with his wife Erica and his family.
Members are invited to attend a funeral service on Wed 8th January at 11am at the Bunbury Crematorium (Belcher Street) followed by a celebration of life in the clubhouse at Bunbury Golf Club.
