Women President Update – 9 May 2017
Published on 17th May 2017 in Women's NewsI would like to address a few agenda items.
Impact on the women’s change rooms:
As you may remember, the lockers, entry doors, storage closet, pin up board, cupboards and counter underneath and storage area with table clothes and older showers will be removed. This area will become offices and meeting rooms. We will have to access our facilities through the outside door at the other end of the change rooms for a while. This construction may begin as early as June.
Del Ambrosius:
It’s very kind of Del to offer to help with the website. She would need to speak to Des.
Life membership nomination I have already addressed in the email I send to everyone.
Bunbury Bowl flyers won’t be able to be distributed until a menu has been decided on and costed. I don’t agree with the proposed change to soup, sandwiches and cake. Last year’s meal was wonderful and greatly appreciated. Going backwards now after our disasters from previous years isn’t what I would like to see. But the cost to play would need to be reduced to reflect the lack of a meal if that’s the way you all vote to go.
The remaining photos will need to come down and be packed along with the others that are in the cupboards. Hopefully we will be able to box up and store many of our things in the outside shed.
We need to be thinking about polishing the trophies and cleaning the glass in the trophy cabinet next month. It won’t be coming down until Stage 2 of the renovations.
The Nexus Open is our next big event. I hope everyone can find a little bit of time to volunteer as committee members. The spreadsheet is on the notice board in the sprig bar.
I attended Governance training on the 8th of May. This was to help board members better understand the governance of their club and management under the Associations Incorporations Act 2015. Our constitution will reflect the changes required and bring it up to date with our needs.
