Presidents Patter November
Published on 27th October 2023 in Members NewsWelcome to my final President’s Patter as I relinquish the role and pass on to my successor at the upcoming AGM. It is amazing how quickly the last four years on the Board has gone by and 2023 has been a particularly satisfying year in terms of the number of projects etc that have come to fruition.
I set a personal goal of finalizing our Club’s new 5-year strategic plan in 2023 which was achieved and I also entered our Club into the Southwest Business Awards in the Not-for-Profit Sector writing the submission for this. GM Des and I attended a networking event at Retravision on Wednesday the 23rd for the Awards and I am pleased to advise that we are finalists in two categories ‘Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘Not for Profit’.
I will be in attendance at the upcoming Awards Dinner at the Abby beach Resort on the 18th November along with some fellow Directors and available team members of the Club and will keep you posted on developments. Watch out for Facebook posts also!
I will not preface my remarks in the President’s Report for the AGM but I do wish to thank those members who have supported me over the past 4 years, I have greatly appreciated your encouragement and positive comments. I also extend my sincere thanks to our current Board Members for their dedication and commitment to our Club over the last 12 months. Whilst we may sometimes hold different views we have worked extremely well together for the long term benefit of the Club and members.
The Board is proposing a number of changes to the Constitution to better reflect the operational realities of the Club which operates in a dynamic and demanding environment. I would ask you to consider these changes and support them and look forward to seeing you at the AGM in due course.
Till then best wishes and ‘happy golfing’!!
