President’s Patter – November 2022

Hello members and welcome to the second last Patter for 2022!

This month’s will be brief as I will be writing my Report for the AGM and this will be posted later this month also.

The year has certainly gone quickly as I complete my first erm as president. I would like to thank the many members who have spoken to me throughout the year and wished me wel or asked how I was going. Inevitably there have been a range of challenges during the course of the year but we have had an excellent Board which of course makes my job easier.

Staffing has proved problematical as it has for countless other businesses and attraction and retention has been an issue and unlikely to ease in coming months.

We say farewell to Jodie and Craig this year and I take this opportunity to wish them both well for the future and to thank them for their efforts on our behalf.

I look forward to seeing them from time to time and to retain their ‘connection’ to the Club. Jodie leaves to take up her own business at the end of November and Craig to join his family business early next year.

Take some time to walk down and check out the new Grounds Shed, this will be a fantastic and long term asset for the Club and a special thank you to all those who have contributed in any manner to the successful completion of this project.

Prising our grounds staff out of their new ‘home’ may prove to be another challenge in days to come!
