Golf Course Update – Irrigation System
Published on 4th March 2020 in Course News, Members NewsDear Members,
You may or may not have heard recently that the Club has experienced some problems with our irrigation system. The problems occurred after we experienced a lightning strike which hit our irrigation system causing some major electrical problems.
For the past week we have been on manual watering of greens and tees only, I can advise that we have been able to get 14 holes back on an automated system with holes 7,14,15,16 remaining on manual watering only.
We have appointed Total Eden to assist who are currently assessing the electrical system across the entire course to get it all back up and running asap.
We anticipate that we will have a better understanding of what the total damage caused and what actions we will be required to take within the next week.
A special thanks to Dave Brennan (Course Superintendent), our Grounds team and Bruce Clapp (Director of Grounds) for their additional efforts in keeping the course irrigated during this time. Manually turning sprinklers on and off across a 72-hectare property takes a committed team effort.
Regards,
Des Shearer
