ROAD PROJECT UPDATE
At last, the works have achieved the final Supply and Application of the ASPHALT overlay to the road widening and surface repairs. The result of this work has provided a full 6.5m wide, smooth Asphalt entry which will be appreciated by many for years to come. Malatesta Paving have done a great job.
This work has been achieved with the assistance of several local contractors such as, Earthworks by JAK Civil with support from Aaron Hovey, Catalano’s efficient gravel supply, Jetline Kerbing and Ed King’s men to achieve the high standards required.
Also, our own volunteer members whose efforts have saved the club a substantial amount of money because of their hard work.
There is still more work to come but only minor obstructions to traffic flow will occur.
The final stages will involve more earthworks to back fill the kerbing, additional gravel shoulder improvements, minor concrete works for paths and drainage.
Bunbury Retaining walls will be erected localized retaining on the south side near houses to remove the steep banks adjacent to houses.
Final trim, clean up and mulching of areas to be landscaped will then be implemented over the following weeks as our club volunteers have time.
Then finally in summer when the water table is low, the drainage works on the golf course side of the road adjacent to Number 10 will complete the Project tasks.
