Course Update – October
Published on 9th October 2023 in Course NewsCourse Update
The warmer weather has made a welcomed return and it’s nice to start seeing some growth out there again. This coming month will be a busy one out on the course with greens renovations scheduled to commence on the 22nd of October. Not only are we coring greens this year we will also be coring our collars and greens approaches and this will then hopefully lead into fairway scarification later in the week.
We recently upgraded our irrigation software with Rainbird Australia to their latest state of the art operating system in cirrus pro. The program itself and operating system in worth around $25k and as part of the deal in 2020 when we were upgrading our system Rainbird were to upgrade us once the program was released in Australia. We are the very first golf course in WA to receive this program and clubs like Mount Lawley, Cottesloe, Wanneroo will follow.
Currently Michael Newman – the clubs longest serving employee is taking some much needed R&R is enjoying some long service leave with his family down in the lower regions of the state so at the moment we are in a bit of a holding pattern as we prepare for the ladies club champs. In the meantime, here is another snapshot of the time spent on tasks over the past month:
