Members Update – 24th June 2020

Dear Members,

Following the release of phase 4 restriction to be implemented from this Saturday and consultation within industry and other clubs we will be re introducing the below from Saturday.

MATCH RELATED-

• Water fountains re opened
• Ball washers reopened
• NTP’s and novelties may return as normal as per sub group competitions
• Foursomes and all other team formats now supported and available to be played.
• Sand buckets to return (limited available-pending delivery of new buckets)

Rakes will continue to be removed and flags to remain in and will be reviewed with phase 5 scheduled for July 18 with the COVID local rules endorsed by Golf Australia and the R & A to remain in place until further notice. Please check the local rules board.

The club-imposed sanction on betting (exchange of money) has been removed, betting is the option of members and any previous arrangements should be re-established following feedback that many members are reviewing their personal situation and responsibility.

GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY – When the FUN stops…STOP.

We encourage the use of a gloved or toweled hand when using the above items on course and more importantly to ensure we adhere to the State Government’s hygiene protocols and take measures to provide a safe environment as practically possible for our members.

It is everyone’s responsibility to continue to practice high personal hygiene standards for the safety of everyone to enable further restrictions be removed in the future.

BAR RELATED

The below outcomes from the release of phase 4 to be implemented from Saturday-

• Gathering limits removed – Clubhouse restricted to 160 inside (2sqm rule)
• Patron registers removed
• Continue to promote physical distancing where possible and maintain good personal hygiene to better protect themselves and the general health of our community.
• BGC COVID Safety Plans will be updated and continue to be implemented.
• Removal of seated consumption of alcohol
• Standing beers and dancing are back!!
• FRIDAY TWILIGHT LIVE MUSIC RETURNS
  • Friday 3rd July – Scott Gordon to play live!
  • Friday 10th July – Bruce & Wendy back by popular demand
  • Bookings essential via the Bar
• Friday Lunch will restart on 3rd July (Soft start limited to 24 bookings) with an official re-open on the 10th July.

We look forward to seeing more members in the bar after golf or for Friday Twilight Dinner enjoying a cold drink, or coffee and supporting the Club.

The Kitchen team would like to thank members for the support and positive feedback on the improved snack items, fresh coffee and cakes now available 7 days a week from the Pro Shop.
