Amendments to club By-Laws-

ADDED Rule 3.1.2 Membership

Rule

Current

Proposed

Explanation

3.1.2 Membership

No rule

3.1.2     Any transfer of membership category must be for a minimum of 12 months, any request to transfer back to a higher fee category within 12 months will result in the full annual fee being payable.

To set clearer guidelines within industry standard to prevent members from taking advantage of lower-fee membership categories in an unfair way. Below is what will result for the club:

  1. Commitment to the Club: It encourages members to commit to their chosen membership level for at least a year, fostering more stable member participation and engagement.
  2. Prevents Category Switching: Without such a rule, members might downgrade during off-peak seasons when they use the club less, then upgrade when they intend to use the facilities more often. This creates imbalance in usage and fee contribution.
  3. Financial Planning: It helps the club better forecast its revenue and financial resources by preventing unpredictable changes in membership categories.
