Presidents Patter – December

I am pleased to present my first update as the new President of the Bunbury Golf Club. It seems to me that that the Club is well placed to further improve our Course, Club facilities and take full advantage of the many advances achieved in recent years.

 

The new Board for the next year is:

Special mention to new Board members Lyn, Pauline, Danny and Andy. I look forward to working with them and the entire Board as we address the challenges and opportunities that will arise over the coming year.

 

We had around 80 members attend the recent Annual General Meeting and all amendments to the Club’s Constitution were approved along with the awarding of life membership to John Fielding. Congratulations to John in receiving recognition for his years of valued service and achievements for the betterment  of our club. Thanks to our outgoing President Rob Littlewood for his leadership and commitment over the last two years. Further thanks to Errol Hammond (and Women’s Captain Lorna Hammond) for their outstanding work as Club Captains, Annette Coote our Women’s President and Mandi Willcocks, Director Of Membership who have all contributed significant time, expertise and support to the Board’s endeavours over the past two years. Well done.

 

The 75th Anniversary Dinner held on 11 November was a special occasion with the Clubrooms looking at their best and the meal was of the highest quality. It was also interesting to hear stories from a number of our older members who have been with the club for 50, 40 and 30 years. The event was a credit to the Club and was an evening to be remembered by all who attended. Des and his team did us proud.
