President’s Patter – May

Well, I know I keep saying it but who can believe it’s May already!!

I am very pleased to advise that the new 5 Year Development Plan is close to completion and I would like to thank our Board for their solid work in getting the document to the stage where we are nearly ready to release for general feedback.

We have certainly been blessed with some fantastic weather of late (bar ANZAC Day!! ) but it was great to see a number of members turning up just to be part of the Ceremony on the day despite the appalling weather conditions. It was great that our sponsors Colin, Bronwyn, Chris and Karen came up with the idea of moving their sponsorship the Saturday to celebrate a ‘Diggers Day’ with thanks to Tony Halpin and Andrew Murphy for being so accommodating on moving their planned sponsorship to another day. I have to say however that it was extremely disappointing that one of winners for this great day was not at presentations and I would ask all members to be mindful about sending in their apology if you cannot attend, especially when sponsors have gone to such trouble to organise trophies.

I take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners in our recent Championships, it was also very pleasing to see so many members out in support and watching some great golf being played in terrific conditions. See the website for results.

A huge welcome to our newest staff member Chef Karlie Kahu. Please make sure to say hello to Karlie, you certainly won’t miss her big smile! I have already overheard some great comments about her food too. On behalf of all of us I should also like to thank Tanya Brennan our Events Coordinator ‘par excellence’ who stood up and ‘filled the breach’ in the sudden departure of Ross Fischer. Tanya thank you so much!!

So here we are, another busy month with lots happening but would you want to be anywhere else?!!
