STRATEGIC PLANNING “THINKTANK” SESSIONS
By the time you are reading this the last of our ‘Thinktank’ sessions will have concluded. These have been well attended and extremely valuable in terms of the discussion and key points raised by members. The findings of these meetings will be referred to by the Board in formulating the 2023 – 2028 Development Plan.
Our club is in a strong position and it will be a critical task to ensure that the future plan supports and supplements this over coming years. I believe our future is very positive and sound planning is of course a key in maintaining this in time to come.
COURSE CONDITION
Having just returned from Country Week I can also categorically state that our Course is in outstanding condition compared to those that we played on. It was a real pleasure to return after a week’s absence and see how much the Course has come on under Superintendent Dave’s care along with the hard work of the grounds team and of course our volunteer helpers.
PRO SHOP CHANGES
Our pro shop is facing some changes with Sam Roberts spreading his wings and heading off to Canada and our Club Pro Craig who is going off to work in his dad’s business post-Christmas. I know this was a tough decision for him but one he made in the best interests of his young family and I am sure you join me in wishing him all the best for the future. I have already told him that I hope we will see him occasionally at the club and he has assured me that this will be the case.
In the meantime, we welcome a new face in the pro shop in the person of Jordan Chatt albeit for only a few weeks. If you haven’t said ‘hello’ to Jordan yet, make sure you pop in and make his acquaintance.
MEMBERS DRAW
A packed venue witnessed the annual Member Night and congratulations to Director of Membership Mandi Willcocks and our Membership Coordinator Jodie Valli for a very well-presented evening. As usual the standard of food was exceptional and I must thank chef Ross Fisher, the indefatigable Tanya Brennan and our fab bar team under Ross Kirby for looking after us on the night.
The vibe in the Clubhouse was great and this followed on from what I believe was another great Friday night. It is great to see our members patronising these events.
It is frightening that once again the end of the year is approaching so rapidly and the AGM in November date TBC. There are a number of projects approved by the Board which will be starting soon and – as ever – the Club will be busy across all areas of operations.
I look forward to seeing you on the Course and in the Clubhouse and, till next issue, wish you Happy Golfing!
